Google Up! Tippecanoe County

The City of Lafayette, City of West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County and Purdue University, with support from Greater Lafayette Commerce, are collaborating to become one of the first Google fiber communities in the United States. Google is planning to launch an experiment that it hopes will make Internet access better and faster for everyone. Google plans to test ultra-high speed broadband networks in one or more trial locations across the country. Google networks will deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today, over 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. The possibilities for our community are endless if we are selected.

As part of the Request for Information (RFI), Google requires a demonstration of community support. Please take a minute to complete a brief survey. Your feedback will help us make the case to Google that Tippecanoe County should be its place of choice.  The survey can be found on the home page of GLC’s website at www.greaterlafayettecommerce.com

We will also be hosting a community forum on Monday, March 22, at 5:00 p.m. in the Tippecanoe Room of the Tippecanoe County Office Building. Please come to show your support of the initiative and to have your questions answered.
