Goals

  • Serve as a liaison between the Greater Lafayette business community and elected and appointed officials at the local, state and federal government levels.
  • Serve as an action group on major community issues.

Committees

Federal Government Task Force

  • Prioritizes federal issues affecting the Greater Lafayette area.
  • Develops and publishes position papers on these issues.
  • Communicates concerns regarding the Chamber’s membership to federal officials.
  • Plans an annual spring trip to Washington, D.C.

State and Local Government Affairs

  • Studies and prioritizes state and local issues of particular concern to local business.
  • Recommends courses of action to the Chamber’s board and membership.
  • Identifies specific issues and conducts studies of government needs.

Third House

  • This mock legislative session is conducted weekly, on Saturday mornings throughout the legislative session. Chamber Third House members are given an opportunity to address issues of concern to area businesses and the community with area legislators.
