| The mission of the Business & Industry Council of the Lafayette-West Lafayette Development Corporaiton is to promote economic development and continued growth and well being of the Lafayette - West Lafayette community. |
| The Business & Industry Council will strive to retain and expand existing business and industry, to attract and encourage new business and industry, to capitalize on technology and innovation, to work closely with Purdue University and to promote entrepreneurship. |

- To create an environment that is conducive to growing technology and advanced manufacturing businesses in the Lafayette - West Lafayette region.
- To attract new business and industry to the Lafayette - West Lafayette area.
- To support the expansion and retention of major employers in the
Lafayette- West Lafayette area.
- To develop small businesses in the Lafayette - West Lafayette area and aid in the expansion and retention of existing small to medium size businesses.
- To encourage the public and private sectors of the community to invest in the economic development and to develop partnerships with government, business, education, and Purdue University to continue to enhance economic development initiatives in the Lafayette - West Lafayette area.
- To support the changing cultural diversity and quality of life needs of the community which will enhance the economic development of Lafayette - West Lafayette.
- Professionally manage the organization so it is financially stable and meets the expectations of the members and treats its employees in a professional manner.
