| Three public school corporations serve Lafayette-West Lafayette . All public schools are First Class Commissioned by the state of Indiana. The high schools are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. All three corporations operate programs for the developmentally disabled and other special-needs students. |

| Ivy Tech Community College is a public, open access, accredited community college serving Tippecanoe County and the seven contiguous counties. Ivy Tech offers associate degrees and technical certificates in Health Services, Technology, Business, Public Services, and Liberal Arts. Many courses are transferable to Purdue University and other public and private colleges and universities. Ivy Tech also offers customized training for businesses and industry, workforce certification, and lifelong learning classes for adults and children. |

Courses typically include accounting, business writing, desktop publishing, computer literacy, math, photography, Spanish, typing, and word-processing. Classes meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. for ten weeks. |
