At the Center of It All
In the heart of the Midwest, Lafayette-West Lafayette's 500-mile radius includes 50 percent of the nation's industrial activity and 94 million people. No wonder Indiana is called "The Crossroads of America".

Located along Interstate 65 about an hour northwest of Indianapolis and two hours south of Chicago, Lafayette is centrally located with highway, rail, and air access to all parts of the United States- and the world.

Region

Lafayette is located in EGR 4.  Economic Growth Region (EGR) 4, located in north-central Indiana, includes the following 12 counties: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Howard, Miami, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Warren and White. This 12-county region covers nearly 4,800 square miles of land, more area than any of the other 10 growth regions, and is home to 482,466 people (or 7.7 percent of all Hoosiers).
